STEPHENSON COUNTY, ILLINOIS — The Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office has released information regarding and accident on IL RT 26.
On August 9, 2019 at about 12:13pm, the Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a Motor Vehicle Accident on IL RT 26 .5 miles North of Orangeville Rd (Just outside of Orangeville, IL).
Upon the arrival of first responders, it was determined that two occupants in one of the vehicles were deceased.
The occupant of the second vehicle was later flown by REACT Helicopter to Mercy Health Hospital in Rockford, IL.
The accident is still under investigation and the names of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of family.
Assisting the Sheriff’s Office at the scene was the Illinois State Police, Orangeville Fire Department, Leamon’s Ambulance, Stephenson County Coroner’s Office, Winslow Fire Department, Lena Fire Department, Cedarville Fire Department, Illinois Department of Transportation, and the Stephenson County Sheriff’s Reserve Unit.
