FREEPORT, ILLINOIS — Harbor Freight Tools is a privately held discount tool and equipment retailer, headquartered in Calabasas, California, which operates a chain of retail stores as well as a mail-order and eCommerce business. The company has over 900 stores in 47 states and now, including a store in Freeport, Illinois.
Formerly a Staples location, last year, the chain announced plans to close 70 more stores. One of the store locations closing was the store in Freeport.
Fortunately a buyer was found for the location right away. Harbor Freight Tools began a remodel of the building and hiring for their new store in November.
