Stephenson County, Illinois — The Stephenson County Emergency Management Agency is wanting to let those who may have been impacted by the 2017 floods about a tax credit that’s available to individuals and businesses.
It’s called the Natural Disaster Income Tax Credit and in short, anyone with qualified real property damage within the 18 disaster declared counties listed below, can apply for certification through their assessor’s office.
Stephenson County applicants will need to take receipts/proof of damages to the County Assessor’s office, 5th floor, 50 W. Douglas, Freeport (815-235-8260) and complete forms to receive a Natural Disaster Credit Certificate.
